Size Does Matter! New LED display components support demanding high resolution format requirements.

Marktech Optoelectronics new .85" bi-color, 8 X 8 dot matrix LED Display, when combined with Toshiba's new ultra small 8 bit LED driver, addresses both the increasing demand for higher resolution and the resulting reduction in available PC board real estate.

The display features 2.0mm dots on a 2.7mm dot pitch. The devices are stackable both vertically and horizontally allowing considerable design flexibility. In addition, Marktech offers a variety of luminosity sorting options, including custom sorting and grouping, to ensure a uniform display without the usual block swapping and matching.

The compact display is complemented by the new Toshiba TB62705CFN ultra small, 8 bit LED interface driver. This device features Toshiba's unique constant current outputs for enhanced display consistency. The serial data in - 8 bit parallel output device saves valuable PC board real estate due to it's compact surface mount size (4.4mm x 5.5mm) and the integration of the shift register and latch functions into a single package with the constant current interface driver outputs.
